Workplace Strategy - Marvell Technology
Creating a Workplace Strategy to Support Growth, Innovation, and Mentoring
Marvell required a comprehensive workplace strategy for its Santa Clara campus to replace outdated office layouts with a workplace that better supported innovation, mentoring, and collaboration. The workplace strategy balanced attracting and supporting the next generation of talent without disrupting how experienced employees worked, while developing a scalable model to support growth to 2,000 employees, strengthen in-person collaboration, and increase speed of execution.
CRUX deployed its Workplace Experience Platform to capture detailed employee activity data, combined with leadership interviews and adjacency mapping. We developed a data-driven workplace strategy for the entire campus, including space demand budgeting, worksetting design, and a conceptual pilot for a team of 70 employees. The strategy aligned space with actual work activities to create environments that supported focus, collaboration, informal mentoring, and knowledge sharing across generations.
As part of the commission, we developed a tailored change management roadmap and communications plan to support adoption and new workplace behaviors.
Marvell Technology gained an evidence-based workplace strategy aligned with business growth, innovation, and employee needs. The pilot-first approach reduced implementation risk, enabled real-world testing of new workplace concepts, and supported the transition to a workplace designed to strengthen collaboration, mentoring, and innovation while positioning the organization for continued growth and higher employee adoption.

Their data-driven approach, including a 63% employee survey response rate and thoughtful stakeholder interviews, gave us the evidence and confidence to move beyond assumptions and make informed decisions about how our teams work.
David and the CRUX team translated complex findings into clear, practical, and actionable guidance that is now helping shape the redesign of our Santa Clara headquarters.
